On May 21, 2014, vice premier of Suzhou City, Mr. Xu Huimin, accompanied by Mr. Kong Wenya, Chief Director of Building Administration of Hutong Yangtze River Bridge and Mr. Hu Hanzhou, Project Manager of Package HTQ-2 and General Manager of MBEC visits the construction site of south bank of Hutong Yangtze River Bridge, and in particular expresses his congratulations for the smooth boring of Combined section of railway and roadway at south approach bridge.
At construction site, Mr Hu Hanzhou, Project Manager as well as Mr Gao Zhendong, vice project manager of Package HTQ-2 of Hutong Yangtze River Bridge reports to the vice premier for the project brief, construction progress, technical characteristics, difficulties and innovation etc. for Hutong Yangtze River, and in particular, focuses on the specific features of the proposed bridge. Hutong Yangtze River Bridge is a controlling project for Shanghai to Nantong Railway Lines at coastal corridor of China Railway Network. The bridge has a total length of 11.072km, carrying double tower rail-cum-road cable-stayed bridge with main span length reaching 1092m which exceeds the world record of 1088m main span h created by Sutong Bridge. The main bridge tower will also break the record of 300.4m world record created by Sutong Bridge. Mr. Xu gives his positive appraisal to the construction progress and site management created by MBEC, and hopes that MBEC will foster the awareness of excellent works, and continue to build the Sutong Yangtze River in effective and efficient way.And further after visiting the sand and material wharf, by staring at Yangtze River Bridge, Mr.H Hangzhou promises to the vice premier, saying that: “ MBEC will promote the local economic development after completion of each major bridge. I believe, as soon as the completion of Hutong Yangtze River Bridge, Zhangjiagang Port will become more prosperous because of this superb bridge.”
